Short-Term Project: Website Designer/Developer (Multilingual Church Website Rebuild with Planning Center Integration)
- We’re looking for an experienced website designer/developer to rebuild our church website into a modern, user-friendly, and fully responsive platform.
- This is a short-term project with a clear scope, fast decision-making, and strong collaboration.
Project Overview
- Our church serves a multilingual congregation (English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese). Each language will have distinct content, structure, and user journeys. This is not a translation-based multilingual site. It is effectively three distinct websites sharing a unified design system and infrastructure.
- We’re looking for someone who can design and build a cohesive experience across these audiences while maintaining a unified brand.
Key Requirements
- Design and develop a fully responsive website (desktop, tablet, and mobile)
- Build a multilingual architecture (multi-site or subdirectory-based)
- Create clean, intuitive and accessible UI/UX
- Integrate with Planning Center (https://www.planningcenter.com/) for:
- Member access;
- Online giving;
- Event registration, etc.
- Ensure strong performance across browsers and devices
- Implement basic multilingual SEO best practices
- The solution must allow non-technical staff to easily update content (e.g., visual editors or drag-and-drop builders)
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience building multilingual websites (please include examples)
- Strong design sensibility + front-end development skills
- Experience with modern tools (e.g., WordPress, Webflow, or similar CMS platforms)
- Ability to recommend the right tech stack and hosting setup
- Experience integrating third-party platforms (Planning Center or similar is a plus)
- Experience working with churches, nonprofits, or community organizations will be an asset
Scope & Deliverables
- Design mockups for approval
- Full website build and launch
- Planning Center integration
- Training and documentation for non-technical staff and volunteers to maintain the contents
- Post-launch support
All contents (texts, graphics & media) and site maps will be provided at project kickoff.
A dedicated project lead will be available for 24-hour approval turnarounds to ensure zero bottleneck.
Timeline
- Project start: June 2026
- Expected delivery: 6 weeks
Budget
- This is a fixed-price project. Please provide your total project quote based on the scope and timeline.
Ownership & Rights
- All final deliverables, including website design, source code, and related assets, will become the exclusive property of our church upon full payment. Any third-party tools, plugins, or licenses will remain subject to their respective terms. The contractor may showcase the work in their portfolio unless otherwise agreed.
How to Apply
Please submit the following to hr@vaughanccc.ca:
- Portfolio of relevant work
- Brief outline of your approach
- Estimated timeline and cost
- Any relevant church or nonprofit experience
We look forward to working with someone who can help us create a welcoming and effective online presence for our church.
